Bidders (Buyers, Customers, Advertisers)

Up to this moment you’ve successfully created the whole site structure. Now it’s time to set up the sell side of your header bidding ad stack. Reminder – HeadBidder is the tool that allows to create ad stack and add customers via UI. So all the customers are yours and HeadBidder does not take a dime from your ad revenues.

Assume You have a contract with AppNexus (or Criteo, Adform etc.) and received ad tag or prebid integration parameters from the SSP representative. Each SSP has its own set of parameters.

On the main screen of your account, you find a Site you need to work with, find Ad Unit, and click on “Bidders” in the Ad Unit local menu. A set of Bidders should be created for each Ad Unit separately.

On the top of the page, you’ll find a place where you may start typing the name of the Bidder you are going to add. Select one and click “Add Selected Bidder”.

Now you are in the Add/Edit Bidder form. Here you may add or edit parameters.

On the General parameters tab we may find:

1. Bidder Activity status. It can be edited from the main Bidders list.

2. Bidder Name and Code. You don’t need to edit them.

3. Is it S2S Bidder or not. If Yes, you may use the Bidder as server-side but Prebid Server parameters must be added prior to this step.

4. Add Labels in order to run this Bidder conditionally, depending on users' screen size.

5. This is the link to the bidder description on prebid.org. You may check that documentation and if you feel that something is wrong, don’t hesitate to contact HBM Support at support@headbidder.net

6. Go to the Parameters tab before saving the new Bidder.

This the example of the Parameters tab for Appnexus bidder. Again, each Bidder has it’s own parameters set. Once you’ve added required parameters into appropriate fields, click Submit at the bottom of the screen.

Now Appnexus bidder is on the list and can buy inventory coming through this Ad Unit. On this page, we may see the whole list of Bidders that are set up for the Ad Unit and we can also:

1. Set Bidder Active or Inactive

2. Delete or Edit Bidder

3. Adjust position of the Bidder in the bidding queue. There is a mode when bidders work in a predefined order. See Site settings.
